While not for everyone, this book was for me since I've been so interested in Florida noir.

I'm sure it's a textbook for some obscure college class but I enjoyed the better part of it nevertheless.

Also, I found a couple of authors I had never heard of much less never read so I'm anxious to put them on my list of 'to-reads.' Of particular interest was a chapter on women writers and one entire chapter devoted to John D. MacDonald and Travis McGee. What fun!

As a bonus, the book was signed by both authors in 1998, the year it was published.
